Travel Clinic
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete a travel questionnaire. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. Please note vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine and it is important to make this initial contact as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel.
The practice nurse will review the completed travel questionnaire and an appointment made for you to actually receive the vaccinations. Your appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service.
The practice is a designated yellow fever centre and if this vaccine is required a charge of £45.00 per person will be made. If after discussions with the practice nurse at your appointment for this vaccine you decide not to proceed with the immunisation a consultation charge of £22.50 will be made.
