Test Results

test12Most test results come through to the practice via an electronic link directly onto the computer. These are checked daily by the practice staff and forwarded onto the doctor who requested the test. The doctor may then indicate what action, if any, is to be taken.

The results of any tests are given only to the patient (except for children) and can usually be obtained by telephoning the surgery after 2.00 pm approximately one week after the test.

Please bear in mind that the pathology department at hospital do not work at weekends and therefore a working week of 5 days is the time scale for results coming back into the surgery.
